March 3

March 2 was J's bday, hes 30! so obviously no post because we were celebrating (lamenting).

What I saw of yesterday was nice, we had good travel weather, the night was very cold and a little windy.

Today is very sunny and warm. I am seeing a lot of cirrus clouds. Apparently weatherbug wants me to know there is a winter storm watch monday. we'll explore that below.

Temperature: 34F
Dewpoint: 9F
Humidity: 37%
Pressure: 30.03"

Not a lot of moisture in the air, so no precipitation at the moment.
Here is our weather.com surface map:

We have 2 low pressure systems coming from the north west, bringing precipitation along the jetstream. I believe this is from a Maritime polar airmass.
This is sunday's jetstream map. You can see how those low pressure systems are moving in an arc and heading our way.

Below are some photos I took of the sky. I stopped for a while until we started to learn about clouds.
Here are some cirrus (high ice crystal clouds - cirrocumulus undulatus seen this morning at 8am) and a jet contrail. facing SW. These can move ahead of large weather systems.
Also taken this morning at about 8am - altocumulus clouds perhaps. facing NW.
